Healing Minerals from Ancient Mountains – Shilajit, Fulvic Acid, and Humic Acid

Natural minerals like shilajit have therapeutic properties with fulvic acid and humic acid

Shilajit is a substance from rock formations made of broken down plant material which has been processed by microorganisms. It has been used for thousands of years medicinally. It contains a variety of substances including acids like fulvic acid and humic acid. Fulvic acid aids with diseases associated with chronic inflammation as well as oxidative stress and the immune system. Humic acid has antioxidant properties and remediates heavy metal poisoning. Other acids and substances are also present in shilajit which give it a wide array of overall benefits including helping with physical recovery and brain function.

Details

Shilajit contains fulvic and humic acids as its primary active ingredients. Fulvic acid is able to cross cell membranes and act as a transporter for nutrients. Research has shown fulvic acid to help prevent buildup of tau fibrils which cause neurodegeneration like Alzheimer’s. Humic acid is a larger molecule which helps it bind to toxins like heavy metals. Humic acid also functions as a prebiotic for beneficial gut bacteria. Both humic acid and fulvic acid aid indirectly in regulating immune functionality while fulvic acid is also known to stimulate it. Shilajit also has minor, active components. Trace minerals and amino acids support various metabolic processes including muscle growth, immune repair, and neurotransmitter synthesis. Plant sterols act as adaptogens to help with stress and may also aid with cholesterol regulation. Polyphenols act as anti-inflammatories and complement free radical scavenging.

Shilajit itself also contains a unique set of substances called Dibenzo-α-pyrones (DBPs).

DBPs exhibit strong antioxidant and neuroprotective properties and may contribute to improved cognitive function and protection against oxidative stress in the brain. They are known to assist in mitochondrial function and energy production. A patent currently exists for isolating these substances from shilajit for use in products containing purified or concentrated forms of DBPs. The substances are still present in significant amounts in natural shilajit.
